Motivational speakers offer inspirational thoughts and ideas, to help the individual and corporations reach their goals and achieve success. 

A motivational speaker helps individuals to define their goals and objectives, overcome fears and obstacles, and achieve a level of determination and self-belief  that brings success.   They may have  a compelling and memorable story that will engage, challenge and inspire.

Motivational speaker Neil Armstrong was the “First Man on the Moon”.  As the commander of Apollo 11, he completed the first landing mission to the moon in 1969.  He flew on many pioneering high speed aircraft, including the well known X-15 which flew at 6400 kilometres per hour at an altitude of over 60 kilometres.  He transferred to astronaut status in 1962, and commanded the Gemini 8 Flight in 1966 when he performed the first successful docking of two vehicles in space.  He is currently Chairman of AIL Systems, Inc., an aerospace electronics manufacturer.

Motivational speaker Mark Beaumont smashed the World Record (at the age of 25) for cycling around the world by a staggering 82 days.  He cycled solo for 194 days and 17 hours over 18,300 miles is one of the greatest ultra endurance achievements of the modern era.  Mark set out from Paris to cycle over 100 miles a day for over half a year.  Battling sand-storms and monsoon rains, through 800 miles around the Helmand Province of Afghanistan, across 3800 miles in 38 days into a relentless headwind in Australia, and being run over and mugged in the deep south of America were some of the challenges on his amazing adventure.  Mark’s story is one of single-minded determination and personal motivation, goal setting, expedition planning, and team-work.

Ben Saunders

Ben Saunders is a record-breaking long-distance polar adventurer, with four North Pole expeditions under his belt  and a motivational speaker.  Ben is the youngest person to ski solo to the North Pole and holds the record for the longest solo Arctic journey by a Briton.  Since 2001, Ben has skied more than 2,500km (1,500 miles) in the high Arctic, which he recently worked out equates to two percent of his entire life living in a tent.  He is currently preparing for three groundbreaking polar expeditions between 2010 and 2012.

Nando Parrado motivational speaker

1972 motivational speaker Nando Parrado flew to Chile to play an international rugby match. Tragically, the flight never arrived at its destination; the plane crashed at 18,000 feet in the Andes mountain range.  The two and a half months that followed changed Nando’s life completely.  His mother and younger sister passed away in the accident.  Nando survived for 72 days, finding his way out of the Andes, after 11 days of a snowy dangerous marathon trek.  After the rescue Nando worked with Piers Paul Read to write the best selling book “ALIVE”, and 20 years later was the Technical Advisor in the production of the film “ALIVE”, where he was played by Ethan Hawke.

 Bertrand Piccard

Born into a dynasty of explorers and scientists who have conquered the heights and depths of our planet, Bertrand Piccard made the first ever non-stop round-the-world balloon fight.

In 2003 he teamed up with André Borschberg to officially launch the Solar Impulse project and start building a revolutionary aircraft to go non-stop around the world powered by solar power.  As Bertrand says, “the adventure of the 21st century consists in using human creativity and the pioneering spirit to develop the quality of life to which present and future generations are entitled.”

 Bear Grylls

After breaking his back in three places in a parachuting accident, motivational speaker Bear Grylls fought his way to recovery, and two years later entered the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest Briton to climb Mount Everest, aged only 23.  Bear has since led ground-breaking expeditions across the world.  But for Bear, it is not just about pushing his limits.  Lewis Gordon Pugh

In 2006 motivational speaker Lewis Gordon Pugh became the first swimmer to complete a long distance swim in all 5 oceans of the world, a feat considered by many to be the “holy grail” of swimming.  The following year he became the first person to complete a long distance swim across the North Pole.  In a career spanning 21 years he has pioneered more swims around famous landmarks than any other swimmer and is widely regarded as the greatest cold-water swimmer in history.  He has also witnessed the destruction of the marine environment. “When you see glaciers retreating, sea ice melting, coral reefs dying and the flooding of low-lying islands it’s impossible to ignore it”, says Lewis.  Lewis has uniquely used swimming to draw attention to these issues with the press calling him the “Aqua Al Gore” and the “Voice of the Arctic”.

Brian O’Driscoll

Brian O’Driscoll was Captain of the 2009 Grand Slam winning Irish Rugby Team and has also lead Ireland to several Triple Crown triumphs.  Brian has also been a vital member and captain of both the British and Irish Lions and the Heineken Cup winning Leinster teams.  He was named the RBS Player of the Year in both 2006 and 2007.  Brian began playing rugby at the age of 11 and has risen to the pinnacle of his sport.  As a speaker he shows how success on the playing pitch compares to that of running a successful business or team.

Ralph Krueger

After a successful playing career in Germany’s national ice hockey team Ralph Krueger took over as coach of Switzerland and turned a previously lacklustre team into world champions. In his presentations Ralph explores the elements necessary to build a high performance team.  Ralph places team spirit above individual success, a philosophy he also explores in his book Teamlife: from failure to success.  During his playing days Ralph played 350 matches in the German Bundesliga, accumulating 187 goals and 186 assists.  He also played 45 matches for the West German national ice hockey team.

 Jörg Löhr

Jörg Löhr is Germany’s best known motivational speaker and a renowned management coach.  Following a successful career as an international handball player, Jörg became a motivator for a number of German sport teams including the 2007 World Cup-winning German handball team.  His books on strategy, personal motivation and success continually rank Number 1 on Amazon’s bestselling lists.

 Raghu Raman 

Captain Raghu Raman is the CEO of Mahindra Special Services Group, providing risk mitigation services across Asia.  During Raghu’s ten year career with Indian special forces, he spent time battling counter-insurgency in Punjab, as a UN peacekeeper in Angola, and finally as an instructor teaching tactics and leadership to young officers at the prestigious School of Armoured Warfare.

 Alain Robert

Alain Robert is the world’s leading free climber and is known around the world as the “Urban Climber” for having ascended over 70 skyscrapers without ropes.  In 1997, he climbed without authorisation the world’s tallest skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  The impact on the media was so great that Sabah Foundation asked him to climb its building in Borneo.  With government authorisation, the event grew enormously, drawing a crowd of 15,000 people and raising over US$150,000.  His greatest success was his ascent of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi with over 100,000 spectators!  To Alain a city is like a range of mountains, with one little difference: there will always be new skyscrapers under construction.
